약 300여 년 전 영일 정씨 휘(諱) 익(瀷) 공이 문흥정(文興亭)을 금성산(錦城山) 아래에 세웠으나, 여러 차례 병화(兵火)를 겪어 기묘년(己卯年)에 종중에서 중건하고 화수정이라 이름했다. 이 정각의 규모는 24㎡의 둥근기둥, 팔작지붕, 목조 기와집이다.
Hwasujeong Pavilion was originally built below Geumseongsan Mountain and named “Munheungjeong” by Jeong Hwi-ik of the Yeongil Jeong clan some 300 years ago. After being damaged and eventually destroyed during various wars, the pavilion was rebuilt by the Yeongil Jeong clan in the Gimyo Year and renamed “Hwasujeong.” Hwasujeong Pavilion is a wooden building with a hip-and-gable roof and round pillars, and has a floor area of 24㎡.
