The Commemorative Pavilion of Lady Kim of the Wonju clan was erected to honor her matrimonial and filial devotion in 1891, the 28th year of the reign of King Gojong. Lady Kim was the wife of Lee Yeong-geun of the Gyeongju clan, who served as Minister of Finance and as the second magistrate in the State Tribunal. When her husband fell ill, she cut her finger in order to give him a blood transfusion, but he died at the age of 25. Then, when her mother-in-law fell seriously ill and developed an intense craving for a melon, even though it was winter, she found some melons under the hut and helped her to recover from her illness. After her virtuous conduct became known to the people, ten local leaders suggested in 1890, the 27th year of the reign of King Gojong, that the government should reward her, and she was duly exempted from corvée labor the following year. The pavilion has a tiled, hip-and-gable roof and measures three kan (a unit of measurement referring to the distance between two columns) at the front and one kan at the sides. It also has a stele that is 1.04 meters tall.
