국가등록문화재 「공군사관학교 제1기 졸업생 첫 출격 서명문 태극기」는 6･25 전쟁 중 첫 출격(1952.12.14.)을 앞둔 환송행사(장행회(壯行會), 1952.12.5.)에서 공군사관학교 제1기 졸업생(천영성)에게 제2기 후배들이 응원의 내용과 성명(서명문)을 담아 전달한 태극기다. 응원의 내용은 '臨戰無退(임전무퇴)', '信念(신념)', '祖國統一(조국통일)', '快男兒(쾌남아)', '祝初出擊 先輩 千永星 中尉(축초출격 선배 천영성 중위)' 등으로 출격에 임하는 조종사에 대한 격려와 전쟁 승리에 대한 다짐과 각오를 엿볼 수 있다. 아울러, 6·25 전쟁이라는 어려운 상황에서 우리나라의 자체적인 정규과정을 통해 조종사를 배출하려는 공군의 의지와 노고가 상징적으로 집약된 첫 출격의 기록으로서 중요한 역사적 가치를 지닌다.
Designated as a National Registered Cultural Heritage, the “Taegeukgi Dedicated to the First Graduate of the Republic of Korea Air Force Academy (ROKAFA)” was presented by ROKAFA juniors to first-term graduate Cheon Yeong-seong, who was waiting for his first sortie (Dec. 14, 1952), at the send-off (farewell) ceremony held on December 5, 1952 during the Korean War (1950-1953).
It contained their signatures and messages of support, including such expressions as “臨戰無退” (Never retreat in battle!), “信念” (Conviction!), “祖國統” (Unification of the Fatherland!), “快男兒” (A Great Guy!), and “祝初出擊 先輩 千永星 中尉” (Congratulations on First Lieutenant Cheon Yeong-seong’s First Sortie), which were intended to convey their encouragement for the young pilot and their determination to win the war.
This Taegeukgi has important historical value both as a record of the first sortie and as a symbol of the Korean Air Force’s determined effort to produce Korean pilots through the country’s own regular curriculum amid the difficult circumstances of the Korean War.

国家登録文化遺産「空軍士官学校第1期卒業生初出撃署名文太極旗」は、韓国戦争中に初出撃(1952年12月14日)を控えて行われた歓送会(壮行会、1952年12月5日)で、空軍士官学校の第1期卒業生(千永星＝チョン・ヨンソン)に対し、第2期の後輩たちが応援のメッセージや氏名(署名文)を書いて贈った太極旗である。「臨戦無退」、「信念」、「祖国統一」、「快男児」、「祝初出撃 先輩 千永星 中尉」などの応援のメッセージからは、出撃に臨むパイロットへの励ましや勝利への誓いと覚悟がうかがえる。また、韓国戦争という厳しい状況の中で、韓国独自の課程でパイロットの輩出を目指していた空軍の意志と苦労が象徴的に集約された初出撃の記録として、重要な歴史的価値を持つ。
