폭서암은 책을 포쇄(曝曬)하던 바위라는 뜻으로, 제작연대 및 각자(刻字), 내용 등이 역사적으로 확실하고 역사적·경관적으로 보존가치가 있다.
Poseogam Rock, whose name means “a rock where books were given an airing,” is considered a valuable material due to its historical and scenic value, and because its date of production and other details are clearly known, and its engraved inscription is well preserved.
