청주지역 최초의 개신교 선교사인 민노아, 부례선, 소열도의 행적을 알 수 있는 자료이며 위의 인물들은 병원과 학교설립 등 청주지역 근대화 과정의 한 단면을 엿볼 수 있는 귀중한 자료이다.
This cemetery contains the tombs of the first Protestant missionaries in Cheongju, including those of Miller Frederik Scheiblin, Jason G. Purdy, and Theodore Stanley, whose adopted Korean names were Min Noa, Bu Rye-seon, and So Yeol-do, respectively.
It is considered an invaluable site for understanding the activities of the Protestant missionaries, offering us a glimpse into aspects of the modernization process in Cheongju, including the establishment of local hospitals and schools.
