금강(錦江) 기슭의 기암절벽(奇岩節壁)과 노송(老松)이 울창한 곳으로 대(臺)밑을 감돌아 흐르는 맑은 강물과 멀리 퍼진 넓은 들의 경관은 사람의 마음을 상쾌하게 만들어 주는 곳이다. 전설에 의하면 신선(神仙)이 내려와 놀던 곳이라 하여 강선대라 하였으며, 동악(東岳) 이안눌(李安訥)과 백호(白湖) 임제(林悌)의 훌륭한 시가 있다. 1956년 5월 10일 여씨 문중에서 6각정을 건립 하였는데, 둥근 기둥에 시멘트 6각 기와집으로 6.6㎡이다.

영어 내용

Gangseondae Pavilion in Yeongdong is located in a place where a rugged precipice with fantastically-shaped rocks forms a harmonious landscape together with the old pines lining the banks of the Geumgang River and its clear flowing water, and the vast surrounding fields. According to a local legend, a heavenly creature descended to this spot to enjoy the landscape and called it “Gangseondae.” It is a hexagonal pavilion with a floor area of 6.6㎡ and a concrete tiled-roof with round pillars. The pavilion itself is inscribed with excellent poems by Lee An-nul (pen-name: Dongak) and Im Je (pen-name: Baekho). Gangseondae Pavilion built and opened by the Yeo family on May 10, 1956.
