Geumhoru Pavilion is located near the Eighth Scenic Sight of Yeongdong, namely Geumho Lake, into which the Yeongdong and South Okcheon streams flow before joining the Geumgang River. Hwanseollru Pavilion used to stand near this lake, but it was destroyed by flooding. In the spring of 1938, thirty-seven classical scholars moved Hanpungnu Pavilion from Muju in Jeollabuk-do Province to its former location, but as Muju County demanded its return in 1971, the pavilion was returned there. Eventually, however, the pavilion was built at its current location and named “Geumhoru.” Geumhoru Pavilion is a wooden building with a hip-and-gable roof and round pillars. It has a surface area of 32.4m2 and measures three kan (a unit of measurement referring to the distance between two columns) at the front.
