고인돌은 청동기시대를 대표하는 무덤으로 청주시에서는 발견된 사례가 많지 않다. 고인돌에 대해서는 선돌과 더불어 청동기 시대 권력을 상징하는 무덤, 마을의 영역을 표현하는 의미 등으로 해석되기도 하였으나, 중요한 것으로 청주지역에서 다수 발견되는 청동기시대 집터와 더불어 청동기시대 문화를 알 수 있는 중요한 자료에 해당한다. 이 고인돌은 내산리 버리미마을에 위치한다. 이곳은 미원천과 그 지류가 합류하는 곳이다. 1994년 청주대학교박물관 조사시 논과 밭 사이의 둑에 걸쳐 있었다고 보고되었다. 1997년 5월 문화유적총람 조사(라경준)시 덮개돌이 1996년 2월에 세운 ‘효자경주김공은식지석’의 받침으로 사용되었음을 확인하였다. 현재는 논을 복토하고 효잡미 주위를 정비한 상태이다. 덮개돌의 평면모습은 긴 타원형으로 340cm×145cm×43cm 크기이며, 암질은 편마암이다.
This dolmen is located in the village of Beorimi in Naesan-ri, Cheongju, where the Miwoncheon Stream and its tributaries converge. Although dolmens are representative tombs of the Neolithic Age, very few have ever been found in the Cheongju area.
During the investigation conducted by the Cheongju University Museum in 1994, it was reported that the dolmen had been discovered on a ridge between a rice paddy and the field of a farm. Meanwhile, the investigation of cultural heritage sites conducted by Ra Gyeong-jun in May 1997 identified that it was used to support the “Stele to Commemorate the Filial Devotion of Kim Eun-sik of the Gyeongju Clan”, which was erected in February 1996. At present, the rice paddy is covered over with soil, while the area around the stele has been re-arranged.
The dolmen itself is made of gneiss and measures 340 cm × 145 cm × 43 cm, while its capstone is oval in form.
