문화재 설명정보

「괴산 목도 양조장과 부속건물」은 현재 괴산 목도 시장 내에 위치해 있으며, 1939년 일제강점기에 건립된 양조장으로 현재까지 원형이 잘 유지되고 있다. 특히 관련 설비와 도구 등의 자료들이 잘 보존되고 있어 근대기 양조산업의 변천 과정을 살펴볼 수 있는 건축물로 현재도 양조장으로 운영되고 있어 전통막걸리 고유의 맛을 대대로 이어오고 있다. 양조시설로서는 술밥을 만드는 증미장의 환기창, 술의 발효를 위한 사입실과 누룩 배양을 위한 종국실에 왕겨를 채워 보온을 위한 벽체를 구성하였고, 사무실과 숙직실 등은 양조장 건축의 특징을 잘 보여 주고 있다. 또한, 양조장 이외의 부속건물로 살림집으로 사용한 한옥주택(1969년 건립), 판매실(1959년 건립) 등도 근대기 양조장 관련 시설로 원형이 잘 남아있다.
The Mokdo Brewery and its Auxiliary Buildings, located inside the Mokdo Market in Goesan, was built in 1939 during the Japanese colonial era. In particular, as the brewery facilities, tools, and other materials have been well preserved, the building retains traces of the changes in the modern brewing industry. Furthermore, it is still being operated as a brewery, and has maintained the unique taste of traditional makgeolli (raw rice wine) passed down from generation to generation.
The brewery consists of a rice steaming room equipped with ventilation windows, a fermentation room, and a yeast cultivation room with insulation walls that were made by filling rice husks, as well as an office and a night-duty room.
In addition to the brewery facilities, there is a private hanok house that was built in 1969, as well as a shop that was built in 1959, showing the typical characteristics of a brewery founded during the modern period of Korea.
